Breezy Spring

Today: Thursday, April 23rd, 2015. Weather: Breezy Spring.

So, I told everyone that I would start back up with blogging, so here I am. I have a few things to share with you. 🙂

Recently, I found a post on Facebook from my friend, Ashley, and it was telling about the signs of Aspartame poisoning. I happened to have stated that, most products released to the public in grocery stores, have Aspartame in them. I told her a secret of mine, which, isn’t such a big secret. I know of others that do this, and I continue to stumble across other readings of the health benefits, etc. I’m not here today to tell you what all the benefits are, etc. I feel as if that is up to the person to do their research – and not just read off of blogs, because, mainly, blogs are personal opinions, or stretched facts, sometimes even lies.

I introduce to you: Tasty Water. For those who are looking for alternatives to soda, or flavour packets, this is probably something you should look into doing…

I have heard mixed reviews on: Detox Water is good, and Detox Water is bad. Honestly, regardless if it detoxes and cleanses your body and purifies your system to rid the toxins in your system, I would still drink it. One reason is, I don’t have to add sugar, nor do I have to submit myself to drinking the sugar or “fake” sugar.. So many drinks out there, just looking at the nutrition label freaks me out. Who needs that much sugar!? And sure, you can say, just stick with plain H2O. Well, to that I say, there’s nothing wrong with plain water. I drink plain water, a lot. But every now and then, you want something else. Don’t lower yourself to buy soda/pop, sugar-filled drinks, etc.

I told my friend to make her own tasty water. Which includes…well, the sky is the limit. I typically add lemons and cucumbers to my water. But every now and then, I add oranges and cucumbers together, and sometimes mint with cucumber, or mint and ginger. Grapefruit is also great. Now some people will say: “You don’t need that much acidity, it will rot your teeth!” … Well, what can’t? As long as you’re brushing and flossing your teeth, as you should be, you should be just fine. Also, use a straw if you don’t want it on your teeth as much.

In the above photo that I took earlier is a huge glass pitcher that I bought last week at Walmart for under $5. This stays in our mini fridge upstairs, filled with water, lemons, and cucumbers for a nice refreshing drink. I also, make my own ice cubes. Now this is where you get to play a little. You can do fruits, or veggies, and you can put it in water during the Spring or Summer to not only cool down your drink, but, it flavours your water as well. At the same time! How cool is that!?

I remember last year trying to fit in ice cubes, water, and oranges to my glass, and it not fitting so well. But the colder your water, the best. I also got tired of buying lemons and cucumbers, etc and after about a week, forgetting they were in the fridge, and then they would go bad. So, I had a brainy idea of just putting them in the ice cube trays and freezing them. I have trays that are narrow, that way you can add them to water bottles.

So in conclusion, tasty water wins! I have cut down on the soda I have been drinking. Honestly, I may have a soda when we go out to eat, maybe just a few times per month. Which, is great considering, I use to drink a can of soda every day. So I now stick with, tea, plain water, and tasty water. I have also noticed a difference in my appetite and weight loss. I do feel refreshed after drinking tasty water or.. as some would call it, Detox Water.. I don’t feel as bloated, I have more energy, and I actually feel healthier. Who’s to say this works for everyone. But, the positives outweigh the bad.. and I don’t really see anything bad… But there again, do your own research to see if this is a healthy option for you.

So… besides my whole tasty water introduction, I also noted that I would tell everyone what the My Beloved Rose insignia means. Not sure if anyone really knows, nor have I ever blogged about.

Here is the official My Beloved Rose insignia, which, would go on tags, etc. Mostly what everyone sees is just the words My Beloved Rose on my photography, because I think it looks more professional.

So…. the rose in the insignia represents my family.

My nickname throughout the military and even before that, was always Rose, and even now, my family and my friends, call me Rose.

Though, they go back and forth between Ash and Rose. But, I don’t mind.

The cross:

We are not weekly church-goers. I mean, we do go weekly for crochet class and my youngest wants to sing in their AME choir.

-2025 Update

I am more spiritual than anything else. Some would call me Pagan. But truly, what are the works of the Bible but representations of the very core essence that we are? To include works thrown out that didn’t fit society or politics.

For my holistic practices I would be called a witch. For my more Buddhist leaning meditation, still considered Pagan. I grew up with a Chinese Vietnamese dad and grandmother who were Buddhist. My mother and her family were and still are Christians.

The cross also represents your health. The medical field also uses the cross, so I find it fitting.

The person in the insignia represents being healthy and fit. That is why I want so much, to help others to be healthy. Not just physically, but mentally, and even with their faith.

This is why I started Mysty Mountain Eclectic- for the holistic, environmental, and climate health. Soil health and remediation affects our health, too. As within so without.

We are to help our neighbours.

Lastly, the “halo” with the arrows, that represents reduce, reuse and recycle.

I try my best to buy or have donated to MBR, used or recycled goods.

Everything I use for my crafts, will be reused or repurposed or, “upcycled”…

Same applies for Mysty Mountain Eclectic- all packaging is reusable or recyclable.

So, there you have it in a minimal paragraph. I tried to not make it so lengthy.

And with that… I say, the END. I will be posting more, if not every day, hopefully, once a week. If you have any questions about this blog post or my business, please shoot me an email:

-Update 2025

I would also like some feedback as well as Q&A’s to start adding to my blog posts. And… it is now time to put the little ones to bed. Wish me luck!!

Goodnight everyone.~
