It’s been awhile – I know. It was a long winter that’s for sure. But as summer is now upon us, I took some time to do a few photo shoots at the Wild Cat Creek.
Here is one of my favourites from this weekend.
Fall is all around us. The magnificent glow of the leaves. The deep umbers, gold, yellow, ultimately, the colours of decay.
I never had that thought until I met Jack. He always thought it was funny, how everyone loves the colours of the leaves during fall. I asked him one day, “Why?” He answered, “Well you see, the leaves are dying… So…you like death?”
Hmmm… Yeah. I guess us Autumn lovers, love death.
But either way. I love Autumn. Being able to curl up in front of a fire, drinking hot cider. I however, am not a fan of the cold, damp weather. Nor, the time change.
I decided to take some photos of the “Death of Fall” for everyone. Enjoy.
And below, some Pumpkin Patch photos of my girls. 🙂

Yay colour, nay cold weather!
I found this exquisite butterfly in my backyard today. There were two, actually. One with an amazing blue color, and this little one, with torn up wings where the blue should have gone.
To me, this butterfly was a warrior. Chewed up yet still flying on.
Ever feel like you or your life is a bit chewed up? Don’t let that get you down. There is so much out there for you. You just have to find it. Just like how this butterfly found our flowers in our backyard. To you, that may not seem exciting. “It’s just a butterfly. And it’s just a flower.”
You’re wrong. Did you know that when they reach full maturity, that they can live for a week up to a year. This little guy has to squeeze in everything in such a short time. They serve as an example. Life is short, so you have to make the most of it.
Don’t let predators attack you and leave you hanging! Get back up and fight. Find what you’re meant to do. Help others. Your life with all of the good and bad is still a beautiful and wonderful thing. No matter how beaten up, torn, or chewed on, or “broken” they may be, they are still very beautiful. And so are you. You may have been torn down a few times. But like the butterfly, you should be able to fly onward. You mean something. You are worth something.
Goodnight everyone. Smile. And pleasant dreams. When life gets you down – just keep living, loving, breathing, swimming, flying, and everything else you do!
Xoxo
What do you see? Nature at its best, of course!
A few days ago, I figured I’d take a few photos of the flowers in our backyard.
I turn on my phone’s camera, looking through it at the flower, I see a stick. Well… I thought! I go to brush it off and glad I didn’t.
Behold! A praying mantis having lunch. But, then I took a closer look. There is no head left to this fly.
Just thought I would share this. I’m sure a few insect lovers would enjoy this.
Many more photos to come, stay tuned!
