🔗Fridays For Future International ;
Here’s another cross-post from the FFF Fayetteville NC page and FFF International page, in case Facebook decides to go poof:
‘#Charleston board to review revised #Grand #Oaks development, 32 grand trees still threatened’
“The plan however has one major catch: it would require the removal of grand and #protected #trees in the area”
“-the #developer for the townhomes has revised their plan, which would now call for the removal of 32 trees rather than the initial over 60 trees that were set for removal.”
Hey developers- how about NO trees!
Leave them alone and go away.
Charlestonians already KNOW there’s NO MORE room, so why take environmental space to line your pockets while the infrastructure is already problematic!
To our Lowcountry neighbours and those following: this came across our feed today.
Remember, developers are sneaky, greedy and opportunistic!
#FollowTheMoney while they destroy our Earth which trickles to climate degradation—this is NOT okay!
They globally take and take and take.
Who else speaks for the trees? Who speaks for the #Earth? Who speaks for the #climate and the most affected #marginalised #communities in these areas? Because we do! And when you see something, you shine a light on it.
So for these folks fighting this, 💪 keep going!
Because those board members keep showing that they aren’t truly speaking on your behalf but to line their pockets! They want a glorified tourist attraction while leaving everyone else behind!
(Pretty sure this is a VERY common theme happening everywhere, rampantly right now)
Our thoughts are with our #Lowcountry folk. 🙏
Keep fighting!
For everyone else:
What are YOU seeing in YOUR local areas?
PLEASE share them in the comments below!
We are doing ourselves a disservice by NOT sharing what we are seeing and the majority of the news is suppressed OR your algorithms don’t pick up on it.
Let’s keep these topics #Internationally amplified!

I speak for the trees—do YOU?
